Listen to this while you read the post.

I’ve been feeling really low for the past few days. Various reasons. I read something online that resonated with what is happening with today’s youth:

“Socially connected, practically alone, and mentally disturbed. A normal human of this generation.”

Sometimes when I’m scrolling through my news feed, and Facebook feed, and Twitter feed and Instagram feed, I am amazed at how my thumb just starts moving on its own. It’s like a reflex reaction. To stay ‘connected’ is almost like a disease. Anyway, I felt like I was drenched in negative energy, and I decided to get out from under my covers, and do something. Just, something, anything. Take my focus off these numerous black mirrors for a while. So I took some shots of my room, and did some painting. I also decided to write about the things that make me happy, to make myself feel better and get out of this slump.

Okay, first let me talk a little bit about my room. No, first let me tell you why the title of my post is (0,0,0,0). Well, my room reminded me of something Sheldon says about his spot in The Big Bang Theory:

“In an ever-changing world it is a single point of consistency. If my life were expressed as a function on a four-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system, that spot, at the moment I first sat on it, would be (0,0,0,0).”

So, I found this apartment by sheer luck. One day I was scrolling through Facebook (oh, the irony) and saw a post about a vacancy, and I immediately went for it. I liked the place, I booked it, paid the security deposit, and shifted into it within a week. The apartment is spacious, affordable, airy, in a silent, green locality, and my new flatmates are great. This room, however, became mine after a couple of months. I am in LOVE with it.

It is small, but it has the cutest little bunk bed, a lot of wardrobe space, a study table with book shelves and drawers, and a window with a decent view and one that allows a lot of breeze to get in. It’s one of the best things to have happened to me in Bangalore. Each day after an entire day of work, I look forward to going home, to lie down on my bed. to switch on my twinkling lights, to let the breeze come in, to play some music, and to just relax. Here, now I’ll let the pictures do some talking. Click on the pictures to start slideshow:

I feel so good finally sharing these pictures with you. This room means the world to me. It is one of the few things going well in my life right now, and I am so thankful.

Also, N had gifted me an art kit on my birthday that had some Madhubani painting style guide and colours. I did some of it today and made some coasters! Do you want to see? Of course you want to see. Hang on!

Aren’t I creative? Okay, I know it’s not the best work of art, but it’s something! It’s a little sloppy, but yo, it was the first time I did something like this, in years. Literally, years! Anyway, I’m going to do some more of this. Create something, produce something, instead of consuming it. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed getting a slice of my life through these pictures.

I’ve also been reading, quite a bit. (Actual, physical books. Taking a break from the Kindle for a while). Finished reading The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. I quite enjoyed it actually. It was like watching a thriller movie. No wonder DreamWorks is making a movie based on it. Have started reading Lord of the Flies now. Also downloaded Fargo. Will start soon. Also, isn’t Fitoor’s music amazing? Amit Trivedi, you magical genius.

So this Valentine’s Day, I plan to spend it alone in my room reading a book! Sounds perfect 🙂

I’ll be back soon. Have a few more things to talk about. Till then, be positive, guys 🙂

You have a wonderful room, well organized. I love your roommate Bugsby 🙂 I know how it feels to be in a slump. Great to hear you’ve gotten outta it. ** bookshelf love*** psychological thrillers are my favorite. There was quite a hype for the book ‘ The girl on the train’ , that’s the reason why I haven’t picked it up yet. In most cases I would the black sheep to end up not loving the hyped up book. I would definitely want to give it shot though.
Beautiful pictures!!! Have a wonderful weekend!! 🙂
